The research at OMRF encompasses a wide range of diseases and disorders, including Alzheimer’s, lupus, cancer, cardiovascular disease and many others. OMRF discoveries have helped establish a dozen biotech companies and have been instrumental in the development of the first FDA approved drug for severe sepsis, identification of the enzyme believed responsible for Alzheimer’s disease, and the first drug licensed under the European Union’s centralized procedure

Benham has served OMRF through an on-call services contract on variously sized projects that range from small laboratory renovations to serving as the Owner’s Representative on a multi-floor, state-of-the art laboratory facility.

Benham assisted OMRF with preconstruction and post award activities such as the development of Requests for Proposal for outside consultants and construction services, interview and selection of contractors, review of documents at design milestones, coordination with contractors, the monitoring of schedule, budget, and quality during all phases of the project, and various other services.

Recently, Benham has completed design for a multi-phase remodel that includes over 10,000 SF of a flexible research laboratory, a vivarium, and an aquatics laboratory. We are also leading an effort to modernize utility and control systems campus wide.
